Crafting innovative design since 1976, we’ve honed our skills to produce distinctive furniture, by expert British craftsmen. Every one of our new products is designed in-house from the ground up.
We’re a talented team of creative thinkers, trend spotters, pattern makers, metal workers, wood crafters, seam stitchers and comfort testers.
Frovi designs and manufactures furniture using a variety of materials and techniques, both traditional and innovative, producing that distinctive Frovi style.
From its humble beginnings in a garage in Pinner (Middlesex), Frovi was formed by Grandpa Dunham, an architect by trade. Offering architectural design in a mix of British-made and imported furniture for commercial spaces.
In 1985, High Wycombe became the new home of Frovi – a town with a rich history of furniture design and manufacturing. The growth in restaurant and office furniture stimulated the need for more innovative furniture design.
Further growth and wider UK coverage demanded a shift in focus and production.
Along came a new purpose built factory at Didcot in Oxfordshire.
Operating centrally made so much sense and twinned with a boom in commercial restaurant furniture this sector became the focus.
Positive growth called once again for expansion and it became obvious that there was a decision to be made: Go larger in Didcot or spread wider in the UK. The second option was chosen.
By the end of 2004, Frovi had it’s second branch built in Moreton-in-Marsh (Cotswolds).
Expansion happened again a few years later, with growth in manufacturing, assembly and warehousing all needing more space in Moreton-in-Marsh.
With more skills needed in-house to support this growth, specialist staff were recruited from the local area.
Opening a London showroom, had long been at the top of our wish list. This became a reality when our exciting new space in Clerkenwell opened it’s doors in May.
Clerkenwell is the destination for anyone wanting design inspiration. When Clerkenwell Design Week kicked off, there was a buzz of excitement as visitors explored our new showroom and discovered our designs.
Our next step was to expand overseas and Canada was the perfect Frovi fit. We were excited about the opportunity to bring Frovi to the Canadian market.
We launched the Frovi brand in November 2016 at the IIDEX exhibition in Toronto.
With a growing portfolio of products we needed the perfect place to show them off, so we moved our showroom to St Johns Lane, Clerkenwell.
Three times the size of our previous showroom, it offered the space we needed to display such co-working ranges as Relic and Jig Social.
Our expansion into North America was the next stage of our development. Aided by a partnership with Stance Healthcare we worked on establishing our brand and products into this new market.
We now have representation in 36 states across the USA and Canada with an expanding sales team to ensure there is always someone available to help.
The story continues with opening Park 34 in Didcot. A new site for our research and development, allowing for greater experimentation with new prototypes and materials.
To support our increasing staff numbers and well-being in the workplace, we are expanding our Moreton site. The expansion will create more open spaces, the inclusion of breakout zones, standing areas and space for collaboration will allow staff to work in a more agile way – enhancing well-being and productivity.
We’re all excited about the completion of our Moreton office, the space offers a different working approach for all our staff.
We’re proud to announce the opening of our new London Showroom. We are still based in the booming design district of Clerkenwell, this time in a two storey, bright and airy showroom that showcases our designs better than ever.
We’re launching our flagship North American showroom during NeoCon 2023! Find us on Floor 11, Suite 101 at the world famous Merchandise Mart, the home of interior design in North America.
