Tidworth Civic Centre – Elm Workspaces

Location
Tidworth, UK

The brief was to design and furnish a purpose-built Civic Centre that is accessible, functional, and aesthetically aligned with the client’s brand and surroundings.

Elm Workspaces collaborated with Oxford Architects and the Tidworth Council to ensure accessibility, compliance with regulations, and seamless integration with the existing structure and war memorial. Every detail, from product specifications to the flowing color scheme incorporating the client’s brand colors, was meticulously planned to enhance the Civic Centre’s aesthetics.

Central to the project was the use of the Relic Cloud table, the Relic Bench Stool, and the Ilk High. The Relic Cloud table features fully integrated cable management for tidy spaces, along with power and data options to keep devices connected. The Relic Bench and Stool is known for its industrial yet refined aesthetic, was chosen to complement the tables. The stools are robust, versatile, and available in various finishes, adding to the functional and visual appeal of the Civic Centre. Additionally, the Ilk High seating, with its luxurious and ergonomic design, was selected to provide comfortable and stylish seating options throughout the Civic Centre. The Ilk High’s customizable upholstery options and superior comfort contribute significantly to the welcoming atmosphere of the space.

The Osti was specified for the Terrace area in a dining height, allowing visitors to come together to socialise, dine or to take time to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The design team’s holistic approach included careful consideration of interior spaces and the surrounding grounds, reflecting in the well-coordinated and inclusive design. Diverse elements such as the Staff Working Area, Meeting Rooms, Mother and Baby Unit, Flexible Function Room, Mall Hall, Terrace, and Public Café Area were incorporated to cater to various needs within the Civic Centre.

Through multiple meetings, on-site visits, and a visit to the Clerkenwell showroom, Elm Workspaces ensured that the final products and finishes met the project’s requirements. This thorough process contributed to creating an environment that stands the test of time.

The installation, completed over two days by Elm Workspaces’ experts, resulted in a Civic Centre that not only meets functional requirements but also enhances the overall aesthetic and longevity of the space. The project exemplifies a well-executed and thoughtful design process, contributing to a vibrant and functional community hub.
