As GumGum continues its rapid expansion, its London workspace—designed and managed by Kitt—was crafted to inspire creativity, boost collaboration, and enhance productivity. The design balances sophistication with functionality, offering employees a space that encourages both focused work and dynamic interactions.

Creating a Space That Works

We were delighted that a variety of our soft-seating designs played a pivotal role in shaping the flow, comfort, and functionality of the space, with a selection of pieces that define distinct zones while maintaining a cohesive visual identity with the project as a whole.

The Focal Point of the Lounge Area: Flord

At the heart of the relaxation area our Flord modular seating forms an inviting and versatile lounge space, designed for collaboration, relaxation, and social connection. Flord was chosen thanks to its:

Seamless adaptability – The modular design allows the seating to be easily rearranged for group discussions, informal meetings, or as a relaxing space to gather thoughts or check emails in comfort.
Soft, organic forms – The curved silhouettes bring warmth and contrast to the clean architectural lines of the office.
Comfort meets elegance – Neutral, sophisticated upholstery enhances the biophilic design, blending harmoniously with the surrounding natural wood and greenery.
A collaborative hub – Positioned around a central table, Flord serves as a magnet for interaction, encouraging teams to gather, exchange ideas, and recharge.

Playful & Flexible Accents

Adding a sense of relaxed informality, the natural organic form of Boho works perfectly with Flords organic silhouette and introduces playful elements that softly break up the structure of the space, especially were square corners or rough surfaces could be found. Boho was one of the perfect compliments to Flord, due to it being:

Lightweight & mobile – The compact, yet elegantly soft seats can be moved effortlessly, supporting an agile work environment or when conversations need to be a little more private.
Warm, tactile contrast – Woven and upholstered textures bring a sense of softness, complementing the structured seating and timber elements withing the overall environment.
Encouraging spontaneous interaction – The flexibility of Boho allows employees to shape the space as they need, fostering creativity and connection.

Trost: Refining Comfort in Collaborative Spaces

Also included in the scheme was our Trost high back chair, elevating the aesthetics, ergonomics and comfort levels of the workspace. Specifically designed for comfort, Trost made the ideal addition to GumGums lounge area, thanks to intricate, yet specific benefits:

Engineered for relaxation – The contoured seat and backrest provide lasting support for extended work sessions.
Timeless elegance – The refined silhouette and deep charcoal upholstery contrast beautifully with the light wood tables, adding sophistication.
Designed for focus & collaboration – Whether used for team discussions, independent tasks, or group work, Trost creates a setting that supports both productivity and engagement.

We’re delighted with how the project worked out and seeing three of our products used so harmoniously together in the type of environment they were originally designed for, is incredibly rewarding to see.
