The Brief
The client, a London-Based insurance company’s headcount had grown during the pandemic and outgrew their space in their in their current serviced offices. The work desk booking system made managing their hybrid team complicated often resulting in booking offsite meeting rooms due to lack of space. This needed addressing and rectifying as well as slicker support with door access, coffee machines, and water supply.
As they grew, this was the catalyst for moving to a new office. They were keen to move away from the serviced office environment and have their own place, but they knew they needed support and a sense of reliability that everything will seamlessly come together for staff.
The Solution
After working with brokerage firm Kontor in their space search, the client discovered Albion Mills, ideally located in what they describe as the ‘cool side’ of the City, with the insurance hub just around the corner.
They loved the unique warehouse-style character and natural light. Working with an existing high quality fit-out, our design team worked with them on bringing the space to life and making it theirs with their branding, additional furniture, plants and accessories. A hero feature of this was a huge wall vinyl of a beautiful flood map – a subtle nod to their important work supporting landlords and businesses with commercial flood cover.
Product Suitability and Harmony
One of the key considerations for the move was to bring colleagues to come together in comfort to collaborate, share ideas and socialise in comfort and style. This is where the Relic table, Bench and Stools comes to the fore. Designed specifically to enable a better way of working, and with exposed metal framework to match and compliment the industrial style of the warehouse it was an obvious choice.
